Cherry blossom season lasts roughly two weeks. That brevity is the entire point — the Japanese concept of mono no aware, the gentle melancholy of things that cannot last, finds its clearest expression in petals that fall almost as soon as they open. For those of us in Singapore, where the seasons barely shift, this idea of a fleeting spring holds a particular romance. Petal Whisper, our CE-03 fragrance inspired by Chloé Roses De Chloe, was composed around that feeling.
Soft floral fragrances are deceptively hard to build. The temptation is always to add more — another bloom, another layer of sweetness — until the composition loses the very delicacy that made it appealing. Our perfumers approached Petal Whisper with restraint as the organising principle, allowing space between the notes rather than filling every gap.
A Composition of Light Florals
Petal Whisper opens with bergamot, tarragon, and lychee — an unexpectedly fresh, faintly green introduction with a touch of fruit sweetness. The heart brings damask rose, magnolia, and cedarwood: the rose is bright rather than heavy, the magnolia adds a creamy, petal-soft dimension, and the cedarwood quietly holds the structure together. The base of white musk and amber keeps the finish clean and skin-close.
